Veteran and member of the 101st Airborn Division, Jim ‘Pee Wee’ Martin died Sunday, September 11, 2022, Patriot Day. He was 101 years old.

Martin was recognized in an article in The Daily Dayton News on Monday, September 12, 2022, outlining his service in World War II as part of the 101st Airborn Division. 

Martin was part of the first American forces to land in Normandy on D-Day as a paratrooper with the “Screaming Eagles.” He later fought in the Battle of The Bulge. By the end of the war, he also received a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and European African Middle Eastern Service medal for his service.
