As we pause to celebrate our nationβs freedom, we honor the brave men and women, past and present, who have fought to secure it. Not all wounds of war are visible. On National PTSD Awareness Day, the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation stands with the brave Soldiers and Veterans of the 101st Airborne Division, 5th Special Forces Group, 160th SOAR, and across the armed forces who continue to carry the heavy burdens of their service.

June is the perfect time to visit the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum. Itβs only fitting that the very first exhibit you see honors the Screaming Eagles who spearheaded the Normandy Invasion exactly 82 years ago this month.
Following the initial D-Day landings in June 1944, the 101st Airborne Division pushed through intense, month-long combat, securing pivotal victories at the Battle of Carentan and Bloody Gulch. They were finally relieved on 8 July 1944.
Despite suffering heavy casualties, the Soldiers of the 101st accomplished their critical strategic mission, cementing the Division`s first Rendezvous with Destiny.
Holiday Hours Update: The Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum will be closed this Friday, June 19th, in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday. Have a safe and happy holiday!
