February is off to a strong start at the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum! 🏛️ The interior is taking shape as walls continue to go up. Now as you walk through the main exhibit hall, you can really see the potential this space offers!

With temporary heat and power, the interior work will continue regardless of weather. The Glider Atrium (Phase 2A) drawings are going through review so expect to see concrete pump trucks back onsite soon getting to work!

In early February of 1991, 5th Group and 160th were in the midst of detailed planning for the insertion of 7 Special Reconnaissance teams deep into Iraq in support of Coalition Operations. The mission was executed on the 23d of February, and was critical to the success of Desert Storm ground operations.

17 January 1991, TF Normandy: Eight 101st AH-64 Apache helicopters working with four Air Force MH-53J Pave Low helicopters fired the first shots of Desert Storm destroying two Iraqi early warning (EW) radar sites blinding Iraqi air defense and opening a twenty-mile wide air corridor at the beginning of the air campaign.

On January 13, 1945, the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) of the 101st Airborne Division attacked Foy, a Belgian village occupied by German troops. The attack was successful in driving the Germans out of the village and immortalized in the book and TV Series “Band of Brothers”.
